SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY MINISTRIES

We are more than a hand out, we are a hand up

Southwest Community Ministries is a faith-based organization uniting many interdenominational churches, businesses, schools, non-churches, groups, and individuals to meet the needs of our neighbors in crisis.

Rooted in the belief that neighbors should uplift one another, we collaborate with our community members to provide critical services — from food and utility assistance to support for seniors and children.

Our mission is to offer not only help, but hope — empowering individuals and families to move toward self-sufficiency with greater independence and resilience.

Every act of service is made possible through the generosity and shared commitment of the community and our supporters. Through acts of care and connection, SWCM strengthens the bonds that hold the community together.

What do you need help with?

SWCM offers various services to assist neighbors during times of need, from infants to seniors we strive to be a helping hand no matter the stage of life. If we do not offer a direct service for your specific need, we most likely have a community partner who does. You can find services offered by community partners here or by selecting Resources from the Main Menu.

Any person who lives in zip codes 40258, 40272, and/or the Jefferson County portion of 40177 is eligible to apply for assistance. If you live in a different zip code, click here to find your area ministry.

Get Involved

Volunteers and supporters are the foundation of SWCM. Your time, generosity, and compassion fuel every service we provide — from delivering meals and stocking the food pantry to helping families keep the lights on and remain in their home during difficult times. Together, they make it possible for us to respond with care, restore hope, and strengthen our community. Every act of giving, whether time or resources, plays a crucial role in keeping our mission alive.
